Burleigh
Burleigh was first established in 1851 in Burslem, Stoke-On-Trent producing fine earthenware. The company was taken over in 1862 by William Leigh and Frederick Rathbone Burgess and became known as 'Burgess & Leigh', and then from the 1930's 'Burleigh' as a combination of the the two names.
Burleigh is best known for it's under-glaze tissue printing, and is now the only pottery to continue to use this English method of decoration, with it's more memorable and iconic blue & white chintz designs
